All travellers need to know travel times – especially when you’re travelling on a time limit. On average, your journey from Sydney airport to Bondi Junction will take 30-35 minutes. But, because of Sydney’s large population, it can be a little longer during peak travel times. Getting to Bondi Junction during peak hour normally takes somewhere between 20 and 40 minutes. Going to the airport during peak hour often takes between 20 and 45 minutes. However, during the quieter periods of the day, your journey will be a bit quicker. Off peak, getting from Bondi Junction to Sydney airport takes about 18-40 minutes. A the same time of day, getting from Sydney airport to Bondi Junction will take about 18-30 minutes.

Sydney airport: what you need to know about pick ups and drop offs

When you get to Sydney airport, it’s important to know where to go. All three terminals are very well signed, and if you know what you’re looking for, getting around will be very simple. If you are arriving by plane, there are several pick up areas you can use. At the international terminal, there is the express pick up section, which is marked by yellow signs and located in the P9 car park.

At the domestic terminals, there is pick up space available on the arrivals level, as well as three dedicated pick up areas: priority, express, and blue emu. To access priority pick-up, you need an e-Tag to pay the fee, which starts at $4. Express pick up, which is a little further away, is cheaper and you can find it by flowing the yellow signs. Then there’s blue emu, which is offsite, but connected by a shuttle bus. If you are arrive to Sydney airport by car, there is drop off space available on the departures levels of all terminals.
