Midland – Things to do

Midland is a suburb of the Perth metropolitan region approximately 16 kilometres from the city centre. It has a variety of shopping options for all tastes, such as the Midland Gate shopping village with its own cinema and pedestrian malls. If you’re visiting on the weekend, check out the Sunday Farmers Markets behind the Town Hall for some fresh produce. On Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, there is also the Military Market.

Midland is also home to the Swan Valley commercial centre which is Australia’s oldest wine region. Here you will find a selection of wineries, microbreweries, and high-quality, fine dining restaurants. Just like its neighbour town Guildford, Midland’s historical buildings give it some character. You’ll enjoy walking around the town visiting the tourist attractions such as the Australian Opera Studio or the Town Hall’s odd square clock built in 1906.
