Gold Coast Airport is one of the most spectacular in Australia, given its close proximity to the sunny surf beaches of Coolangatta. If you’re flying in for a Burleigh Heads holiday, then you’re sure to be off to a good start when your plane starts its descent over the white sands of the Gold Coast! To get to Burleigh Heads from the airport, you’ll need reliable transport though. However, those times do change and they’re often affected by large events, commuter traffic, and even the conventional hustle and bustle of holiday season. When the roads are busy, and there’s a bit of traffic congestion around, the trip can be a little longer at around half an hour. However, the inverse applies when the roads are clear. Getting around the airport

The Gold Coast Airport consists of one principal terminal, from which both domestic and international flights operate. Carriers from all over the world pass through the terminal each week, including flights from Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Air Asia, and even Scoot. To facilitate the thousands of travellers who come and go each week, there are four separate parking areas, which combine to facilitate parking for more 2000 vehicles. The closest of those areas lies just 30 seconds’ walk from the terminal, and comes complete with undercover spaces. Despite being a relatively small airport, the Gold Coast Airport is known for its top shelf facilities, which include restaurants, cafes, shops, a pharmacy, baggage lockers, and even a foreign exchange.

Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads is among the most iconic coastal destinations in Australia, and it’s particularly celebrated for its world class surf. The suburb itself lies in between Surfers Paradise, to the north, and Coolangatta, to the south. It houses the Burleigh Heads National Park, which comes complete with a number of walks, sublime ocean views, and wildlife in between. For the surfers among us, there is Burleigh Beach itself, which is home to the famous Quicksilver Pro surfing event, and a number of other recreational events. Just back from the beach is James Street, which has cafes, shops, delis, and restaurants for the more leisurely among us to enjoy. And of course, with reliable transport from Car Australia, you will have no trouble seeing it all!
